This world can finally be destroyed.

—Akong

Akong was an evil priest of the pullulu tribe who was sealed by guardians along with Ulcus. After Ulcus' emergence, Akong was released and took over Old City, overthrowing the king of the pullulu tribe.

Physical Description[]

Akong Headshot

Akong was a grey pullulu with lighter face tattoos on both his cheeks, resembling a sun symbol. He has black, beady eyes and a yellow beak.

He wears a sleeveless, white outfit with orange trims and a stand-up collar of the same design connected to a floating platform, along with a white and orange cap with a red jewel in the middle.

Background[]

Origin[]

Akong used to be the royal priest in old city but after practicing forbidden magic, he grew more to be more powerful and thus, sought for even more power, aiming to conquer the worlds. However, he was defeated by the forces of justice - Charming Gold, Manus, The Guardians (Aria, Ensemble and Vivace), and an unnamed pullulu ancestor.

Escaping the Vault[]

After being captured, he stayed dormant for over a millennium until the death of Charming Gold, which unlocked his prison and allowed him to roam free, heading to the Old City and controlling Princess Solar. After controlling the princess, he overthrew the king and placed the city under his tyrannical rule.

Throughout his rule, he brainwashed the rest of the pullulu tribe and established the Running Man: Survival games, where he places disobedient pullulus to fight against their will in order to stay alive.

Battle with the Running Men[]

After the sealing of Ulcus, Akong ordered his men to capture the Running Men and take them to the Old City, where he accused the group of killing Ulcus and giving them a century-long prison sentence (except for Pala, who had a 10 year sentence)[1]. When the Running Men refuse to follow through with the sentence, he decides on sending them to the survival arena so they could fight for their freedom[2]. However, this survival turned out to be a trick, as the original purpose of the games was to help Akong regain his lost power via destroying the guardians who sealed him[3].

When the Running Men confront him, Akong brings forth Charming Gold, whom he resurrected and made a deal with. However, the Running Men manage to defeat the peacock, angering the priest[4]. As a last resort, he deceives the Running Men once more, using a fake materion to trick and mind-control them, which failed as the Running Men manage to escape his grasp. Unfortunately, the Running Men fail to defeat Akong completely as his sealed power finally resurfaces, turning him into a gigantic mass of dark energy[5].

The Running Men, along with the Guardians, attempt to fend him off, with Aria using a 'box of infinite space' to seal him from the Old City while the Running Men attack from all sides trying to reach his core. Later, Akong escapes the space, throwing him and the Running Men out. He tries to attack them again but falters as Lonky, Pala, and Popo move around inside of him, causing him great pain. In an attempt to lessen the pain, Akong eats a whole bunch of pullulu, claiming he was hungry[6]. While eating, the Running Men find out that the reason why Akong was hungry was because of Pala's staff, which was eaten along with the impala. According to Aria, the staff has the ability to purify Akong due to the fact that it was made from the Soul Tree's roots. With that revelation, Liu orders the group to head inside Akong in order to perform a purification ritual, which they are successful in. Due to the purification ritual becoming a success, Akong explodes, releasing the Running Men and the pullulus he ate, and leaving behind his force ring.[7]
