Me?! I'm the Giraf Tribe Prince 49th in line to the throne! You can call me Lonky.

—Lonky

Lonky (Korean: 롱키 [rom. Longki]) is the so-called 'Giraffe Prince' who is currently on the 49th rank of his own tribe. Therefore, he competes in order to become king. Similar to his real-life counterpart from the original show, Lee Kwang Soo, Lonky has the tendency to become allies with his teammates only to backstab them in return.

Lonky has the ability to stretch his arms and neck. In which, him and the others can use his rubber man limbs to either restrain an opponent or grab hard to reach objects.

Physical Description[]

Lonky Headshot

Lonky Headshot

Lonky is a yellow giraffe with no spots. He has dark brown hair cut into a bob style and matching brown eyes.

He wears a white sweater jacket with a red diagonal line printed on it, similar to a military sash. Along with his sweater jacket, he wears a red and gold epaulettes attached to it. He also wears matching white pants to go with his sweater as well as knee length brown boots to complement it.

Background[]

Lonky is a prince of the Giraffe Tribe, 49th in line to the throne. He joined the Running Man Championship in order to raise his rank and become king.

This character is based on Lee Kwang Soo.

Personality[]

Throughout the series, he is known as a prideful, conniving trickster who betrays others to get what he wants. Although he learns to work well with others and slowly unlearns his traitorous behavior as the show goes on, his prideful nature often gets him at odds with the other running men.

Abilities[]

  • Elasticity - As part of his tribe's natural abilities, Lonky is able to stretch his limbs for as long as he wants, which he uses to restrain his victims and take their shields while they're distracted.
  • Manipulation - Despite his infamous reputation, Lonky has the ability to persuade and trick others to his advantage.

Relationships[]

Liu[]

Liu and Lonky have a pretty good friendship, despite Lonky constantly making things difficult for him. An example of his constant annoyance was when he dragged Liu by the ankle after getting taken by the Kupha Man. Despite all of this however, they are shown to be quite amicable with each-other.

Popo[]

Though at odds at times, Lonky and Popo are best friends and he even calls Popo "brother" occasionally, showing their close relationship. They also typically scheme against the other players together. When Lonky found out about Popo's baby form, he was initially concerned and was shown to be his primary caretaker until Pala turned him back into normal.[1]

Kuga[]

Lonky did not like Kuga at first and found him very gullible when he was able to trick Kuga into wearing high heels in the first episode[2]. Throughout season one, Lonky would constantly try to annoy Kuga unless he needed to use him, getting his karma every time whenever Kuga grabs his neck and throws him around. Later on, however, they were shown to have a rather amicable friendship, as shown when Kuga saved Lonky and vice-versa[3].

Trivia[]

  • He is the tallest among the Running Men.
  • He is most well known from the 100-second trailer, where he took Kuga's shield from behind and casually walked away, showing his trickster behavior.
  • When fighting his Shadow Self, he is implied to get overshadowed a lot by his family, making him believe that the only way to get noticed is to take credit from other people's works.[4]
  • In Season 2, his ranking dropped to 50th place, probably from Alto's return. Interestingly enough, Alto's ranking raised from 27th place to 21st.[5]
  • He's shown to have learnt some swordsmanship from his classes in the Giraf tribe. However, due to his poor skills, he was often criticized for it.[5]

Quotes[]

"The shoes of Invincibility!"

"I think the legend says his name is Makhan."

"Oh that stupid Kuga, a total meathead! He doesn't even know what high heels are (laughs) Master Ma, eh? who's the master now?"

"Looks like I tricked him again! goes to show that you have to be smart to win the game!"

"Kuga, Kuga buddy boy, he's no threat or more like a big baby. He's ferocious, but not much for brains. (laughs) Sorry Kuga!"

"I knew it from the moment I first saw him. He may be big, but inside he's just a little baby!

"By the way, my heels were totally better than those squeaky shoes, am I right?"
