Spin (Korean: 스핀 [rom. Seupin]) is the leader of a young activist group who wanted to reform the Mong Tribe's conservative ways[1]. He receives an instruction from the tribe leader to cooperate with Charming Gold's X-Men plan, but disobeys it and participates in the Running Man Championship, saying he will win the Materion fairly. However, in the end, he fell into the trap of Charming Gold and became part of the DV7, given the name 'DV5'.


A young man from the Mong, tribe with a history of being war slaves, he is a leader of an activist group that opposes the conservative elders and their leadership. Dissatisfied with the Mong Chief's insistence to participate in Charming Gold's plan, he decides to use his own skills to win the championship, but falls into a trap.[1]

Spin is a monkey with a grey complexion and slender body. He has brown eyes with dark blue hair slicked back along sideburns that gradient from black to white.

He sports a grey and black outfit with red accents. Over his skintight grey top, he wears a black croptop and baggy three-fourth pants with matching rich black shoes and fingerless gloves.

During Season 2, he wears the same outfit with the exception of his red accents, which turned blue to signify his escape from his brainwashing.


Background[]

Growing up in the Mong Tribe, he was a leader of a youth activist group who opposed the Tribe leader's conservative views and leadership. Under the tribe leader's orders, he was told to follow Charming Gold's plans and refused, choosing to win the Materion fairly. However, while competing, he fell for a trap that Charming Gold put up and later turned into a DV7.[1]

Personality[]

As part of the DV7, he is shown to be confident and prideful in himself, taking pleasure in hurting and taunting the Running Men. However, he is also short-tempered, making him easy to rile up. Like the rest of the group, he doesn't work well with the other DV7.

Outside of his brainwashing however, he is a serious and caring guy. Even though it's briefly shown, he does care for the rest of the DV7 and the Running Men, fighting Rex with Alto and Kuku on the Running Men's behalf[2] and even helping the audience in evacuating the stadium[3]. He is also shown to be rather heroic, helping Shan with the rest of the DV7 is creating a barrier to shield the Running Men from Manus' attack and getting injured in the process.[4]

Abilities[]

  • Teleportation - Although shown briefly, he is proficient in teleportation, using his ability to evade attacks instantaneously.

Episode 27, A Risky Plan - Debut. Gets summoned by Charming Gold via Dr. Mala.

Episode 28, Battle of the Highlands Part 1 - Appears in the stadium and defeats a giant mecha bot along with the DV7.

Episode 30, Battle of the Highlands Part 3 - Looks down at the Running Men as the DV7 win the game.

Episode 32, Gaining Ground Part 1 - Teases Miyo after a confrontation and gets kicked in the face by Liu, knocking him down briefly. He gets up, angered, and chases Miyo. He stops Gai from punching him and leaves him with a warning, shoving him away with his shoulder.

Episode 33, Gaining Ground Part 2 - Manages to keep up with Miyo and punches him. However, as he is approaching her, he activates a trip wire and gets crushed by a pillar. When he recovers from getting crushed, he praises Miyo's cleverness but is confused when he can't see her. He then gets kicked by Miyo and slowly gets up, enraged at her.

Episode 34, Gaining Ground Part 3 - DV1 commands him to follow the Running Men and has another confrontation with Miyo. Still holding a grudge from last time, he runs after her and later gets commanded to chase after Liu. He is later struggling against the gravity of the now taken Zone 7 by the Running Men.

Episode 36, The Red Explosion - Appears briefly screaming in pain because of the amplifier

Episode 37, Battle of the Thrones Part 1 - He corners Popo and Lonky along with DV 4 and loses track of the two when Miyo teleports them somewhere else. Later appears to fight the Running Men along with the rest of the DV7, staring at the group when Kuga breaks the bridge between them.

Episode 38, Battle of the Thrones Part 2 - Gets blinded by the smoke trap Liu put and watches DV 1 defeat the Running Men, winning the game.

Episode 39, Battle of the Thrones Part 3 - Appears with DV 5 and teases Kuga.

Episode 40, Battle of the Thrones Part 4 - Fights against Miyo and uses her teleportation to move away from her attack. When he lands however, Miyo catches up to him, kicking him in the face and causing him to fall on Rema, knocking both of them out.

Episode 41, The Revealing Truth - Wakes up in the game prison confused due to his brainwashing, commenting about a 'red gas'. He later gets crushed with the DV7 when the prison's ceiling falls on them.

Episode 45, The Seventh Slate - He escapes along with Rema, Alto, and Kuku and silently offers to help Shan stall Ulcus.

Episode 46, What Makes a Hero - He appears briefly, injured and braces for Ulcus' laser attack along with the DV7.

Episode 48, The Last Card - He appears battered, grabbing onto Dr. Mala's horns and pulling him back, glaring at the impala.

Episode 49, Unfinished Stories - Appears cheering for Makkhan while he is carrying the debris and later pushes him back from attacking Detective Frank. He is later seen getting pushed back by the pullulu police officers along with the DV7.

Trivia[]

  • He is a youth group activist in the Mong Tribe focused on opposing the tribe leader's conservative leadership.
  • He is often shipped with Rema, mostly due to him and Rema being an older version of Miyo and Gai, who are also a common pairing in both the show and the fandom.
  • He is one of the oldest characters in the show along with Pala, Makhan, Kuku, Dr. Mala, and Alto.
  • he is the only member of the mong tribe who's name doesn't end with ai
